Hello World!

My name is Juan Morales-Rocha and I am a Game UI/UX Designer from Santa Cruz, CA.

I first fell in love with games at the age of 5 when one of my cousins let me borrow their kiwi-colored Game Boy, along with their copy of Pokémon Yellow. I've been playing games ever since, and have no plans of stopping anytime soon! My love for games has evolved over the years, as has my appreciation for the work that goes into making them the amazing experiences that we, as players, get to participate in.

This appreciation transformed into curiosity, which led me to pursue a BA in Art & Design: Games + Playable Media, as well as a BS in Cognitive Science: Artificial Intelligence/Human-Computer Interaction. While part of me wanted to learn how to make games, another part of me also wanted to know why we make games. Specifically, I wanted to understand the relationships that players have to the games they play, and what makes those experiences meaningful.
